Pilgrimage to India – Where the journey inward begins.
I found myself immersed, both outwardly and inwardly, in the tropical climate of the western Bengal region. Mayapur and Navadwip are the birthplaces of the last avatars, Gauranga and Nityananda. The nature here is imposing. The leaves of the trees are large as sheets, fluttering in the light breeze. The trunks of the trees are thick and tall, inspiring a feeling of respect and love for Mother Earth, Bhumi. Here, she is still the ruler, defying human force.
Temples are present everywhere, all calling out “Gauranga,” celebrating the last avatar of love. The Ganges and the Jalangi rivers intertwine, saturating the earth and air with moisture, bringing peace and tranquility from the transcendental realms from where they once flowed. The mystical mornings, the dusty earth roads worn by the feet of saints, the Rishis, melted my heart. The simplicity and smiles of the inhabitants awakened a sense of humanity and modesty.
Long-forgotten virtues easily become visible in the forgotten world of Bengal, where every step is a dance, and every word is a song dedicated to Gauranga’s glory.
